Consistency is Key

When it comes to achieving your health and fitness goals, consistency is the key to seeing results.  Consistency is one of the most important skill set you can develop.

This means choosing a goal and putting a date on when you will achieve it.

Now the work lies in staying consistent with your actions until the goal is achieved.  The timeline may change, but the end result does not.

This approach is becoming more rare as people are looking to get to their goals without putting in the time.  Some are looking for a quick-fix solution.

When we are not consistent we tend to jump around from program to program.  There is a myth of variety that we need to debunk.  The more variety you have in your programming, the harder it is to reach your goals.  Too much variety probably means there is no focus and you are unable to measure progress.

To establish consistency it takes being 100% committed to your dreams and what you want to accomplish. When we are 100% it is easy to stay consistent.  If we are not consistent it is usually because we don’t really want our goal or believe it is possible.

Focus on the fundamentals of your goal.  If you are not sure what they are, hire someone that does.

Although there is no quick fix solution, if you are consistent with your actions then getting to your goals becomes exponentially easier.

It seems when we are not consistent we follow more of an on-off approach to our goals.  Truthfully, the on-off approach can also cause issues with your hormones and metabolism in the long term which will actually make it more difficult to improve your health.

Changing your habits is about establishing a new normal and a new mental mindset that will stay with it so that healthy living becomes a way of life rather than something you either do or don’t do.

Change is the hardest thing for us to do.  Setting a goal will mean you will come up against physical and mental barriers.  These barriers are opportunities to stay consistent and to break through those barriers to become a better person that is now stronger physically and mentally.
